Elizabeth Pitcairn in Concert (E.P.I.C.)
Every February, the Tahoe Symphony is honored to welcome and host one of America's more beloved violin virtuosos, Elizabeth Pitcairn. She performs with one of the world's most legendary instruments, the Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius of 1720, said to have inspired the Academy Award-winning film the Red Violin.
Pitcairn plays new pieces every year, and in previous performances, she has played works such as Brahms' famed Violin Concerto, pieces by Saint Saëns, Borodin, and Chausson. Coupled with these amazing well-known pieces, she sprinkles in plenty of fan-favorite encores from Pitcairn making it an annual memorable night of music!
